Faith Is Always Trump

If you play cards at all, you know what “trump” means.

A trump is a playing card which is elevated above its normal rank in trick-taking games. Typically an entire suit is nominated as a trump suit – these cards then outrank all cards of plain (non-trump) suits. In other contexts, the term trump card can refer to any sort of action, authority, or policy which automatically prevails over all others. (Wikipedia)

Trump overrides all other powers or the ranks of other cards in that game. Trump is “king;” trump is the winner of IMG_1031.JPGthat hand. The only thing bigger than a trump card is a higher trump card.

Faith is like trump. In the natural world there are laws. When we play by the natural laws we get natural results. However, we have trump. We can operate in supernatural faith. Faith is described in Hebrews chapter 11 of the Bible and the more we understand about how faith works, the more we understand this chapter. My understanding of faith has reached a level of results that I would describe in modern words this way:

Faith trumps fear.
Faith trumps the natural world.
Faith pushes physical symptoms out of the way
Faith understands that there is more to reality than what we see
Faith sees past the natural realm.
Faith knows there is a miracle just outside the symptoms.
Faith + Action = Manifestation
Faith is real, symptoms are false
Faith overrides the symptoms of infirmity
Faith is a force, a power given to us by God.
Faith works through love.
Faith works through Kingdom laws, it’s mechanical.
Faith works every time.

Healing is provided by God to all who believe, but we have a part to play. We can apply faith to every situation and watch it change. Examples of faith changing physical things can be found by reading my blog “Mountains and Molehills,” or “Unbelieving In Allergies.”
