Advertising You To Death

One of the worst things about watching TV nowadays is the commercials of medicines and their side effects. By the time they are done listing symptoms of diseases and possible side effects of medicine, I feel violated. It’s a battering of death blows. It’s  like a machine gun of negative words hitting your heart, flooding your mind and body with thoughts of sickness. Hundreds of negative words, marketing sickness to your subconscious which is called the heart, in the Bible. “Diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, depression, suicidal thoughts, dry mouth, dry eyes, bloating, anxiety, gas or death” can be yours, if you just let your guard down and allow these words to take root!

“Life and death are in the power of the tongue and those who love it tv commercial stresswill eat the fruit thereof.”  (Prov 18:21) This verse is not only about the need to speak life, but hear and tune in to words of life. Be careful little ears what you hear! If you listen to words of health and uplifting ideas you will bring forth fruit of health. Guard your heart from words of death, discouragement and fear.  Avoid the bombardment of  words of sickness on TV and even conversation. Stop talking about and listening to reports of illness. They will absolutely affect you. Some friends or family are all about who is dying, who is sick or their own sicknesses. Be rude if you must and stop the flow. My family is trained not to speak about sickness, only ask for prayer for it and we will speak wellness over each other. We command it to go, expect to be well; we do not imagine ourselves sick and never curse anyone with “now you’re going to get it next.” Singing “I feel good! Na-na-na-na-na-na” is a prayer and faith statement!

“…every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn.” (Isa 54:17) Condemning any words rising against us is our heritage in Christ. When you hear “It’s flu season!” say out loud “Not for me it isn’t!” On radio, TV, or at work, stand against these weapons formed against you by simply talking back. “Getting a cold??” people say to you when you sneeze; I say “nope!” When they say “Are you feeling ok?” I say, ” My immune system is on high, thank you!” People stop asking after a couple times of rejecting their suggestion of sickness.

The song “Speak life” by Toby Mack has to be one of my favorite songs ever. Speak life and listen to words of life. I turn the volume down on commercials or better yet off. It’s that important to your health. And they know what they’re doing. Systematically programming the public for sickness by the power of the tongue, aka the power of suggestion.

Think wellness, speak wellness, be wellness.
