Fear Is Actually The Root Of All Evil

I’ve come to realize that fear is affecting so much more than we understand. I believe fear is the root cause of most malfunctions, sins and sicknesses. Even the “love of money” is fear-based. While the Bible does warn in 1 Timothy 6:10 “For the love of money is the root of all evil which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” But I think the deeper root is fear. If you love money, you want it so you can use it to provide for your needs and desires; but God is our Provider and if we don’t believe that, we will look to money for our security .

Imagine a life without fear, worry, anxiety, depression. Fear paralyzes us emotionally and I am sure physically too. I’ve even heard that all allergies are fear-based but now I believe everything that is not of God is fear-based. God commands us to “fear not” in many verses. Angels always start their salutations with “do not be afraid.” So we must have a choice in the matter. There’s a reason God tells us not to fear. God is love. Satan is fear. Dr. Caroline Leaf (brain scientist) says “we are wired for love.” She often states that there are only two categories in our emotional make-up: love and fear. There’s good anger (from love) and bad anger (from fear.) Joy, peace, happiness, compassion and good confidence are love-based. Depression, anxiety, hopelessness, rage, apathy, arrogance, insecurity, grief, rejection, selfishness and low self esteem are fear-rooted.

I’ve started making it a priority to pray against fear in every form for myself and my family. Declarations and confessions are prayer. Speaking God’s words over ourselves gives motion to faith. I like to rebuke fear as soon as any emergency hits. When peace is not present, fear is there. I say “I will not fear. Fear is not a part of my thinking! God has not given me a spirit of fear but of love, power and a sound mind.” (2Tim)  If we knew how life would feel without fear and how free we would be without it, I think we would concentrate on resisting it. When praying with others I try to start with “I bind all fear in the Name of Jesus and command Satan to shut up and ask the Holy Spirit to cover us with a blanket of peace over our minds.”

When I started binding fear over my whole family, specifically naming my mom, my children, myself and my husband. The first thing that I noticed is my mom started changing. She was in bed most of the day and even though she had been healed of paralysis for the most part, fear of falling or many other fears kept her in bed most of the time. She uses a wheelchair but has progressed to be able to stand, yet would not start to walk. So far, she’s started to stay up in her chair much more, ventures around the house making herself food and transfers herself several times a day with stand-by assistance. I’m encouraged and looking forward to seeing my whole family change. I bet this will break the paralysis with me too.

I believe the verse “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” (2 Tim 1:7) indicates the fear is the opposite of power, love and a sound mind. Unbelief and rebellion are rooted in fear. If we believed God will provide for our needs we would not steal, if we trusted God we would not rebel or lie. If we believed God would give us fulfillment, we would not seek it in adultery or drugs. So the battle is always against fear. Fight fear and learn to trust God.

I’m confessing my health confessions several times a day now and anti-fear as well. Watch out things are going to get exciting!
