I am disappointed to hear anyone saying things like “it’s not about the healing“ which in my opinion is a religious sounding thing to say. Religious sounding because it suggests that healing is merely a physical or fleshly thing. To God it is about the healing because Jesus paid for it. Don’t tell God it’s not about the healing; don’t tell people it’s not about the healing. Salvation includes healing. It might sound spiritual to say “God is more interested in your relationship with Him than about your physical healing” but that’s coming from a carnal, religious spirit. Satan really knows how to downplay truth and make us feel selfish for wanting anything good even if God wants it for you. God wants you healed ; healing affects your relationship with God! God knows it would be harder for you to understand that He loves you when you’re not feeling well, whole and complete. Whether you have been healed or you are still in faith limbo believing for one, don’t be ashamed to say you believe you’re healed; don’t be shy to share your testimony! Stick up for the value of healing. Don’t value suffering like a religious martyr. Jesus suffered so we don’t have to! Don’t minimize the part of salvation whereby Jesus suffered for us at the whipping post! Don’t let people shame you for being healed and spreading the news. People are saved by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. God says healing matters!
If by way of legalism you undervalue the part of salvation that is physical healing, this is unbelief and can delay physical healing. Change your unbelief to belief by magnifying what Jesus did to purchase your healing. Read it, talk about it, meditate on it. If you are heavy on the righteousness and light on “by whose stripes ye were healed,” try heavily focusing on the scriptures that magnify how His body was broken for you. His blood was shed for sins but His body was broken for healing. The stripes of whipping, the crown of thorns, the beating and suffering were for our healing. The shedding of blood was for forgiveness. If you, like me were brought up only to focus on forgiveness it’s time to meditate on the payment for healing that Jesus made.
