A Little Lower Than Who?

There’s a handicap from which the whole human race suffers; it’s an ignorance of our worth and potential. We humans are underestimating what God thinks of us and who we are. It is Satan’s objective to lead us to believe we are mere men and nothing valuable. However, God made us in HIS image, therefore we are all sons of God, or little gods on this earth. (Jn 10:34) We are His workmanship. We are His prized possession and Satan hates us with envy.  I’ve been pondering a verse on this subject for years. Some versions of the Bible interpret the original Hebrew writings of Psalm 8:5,  to say we are lower than angels. But this is very incorrect. The Hebrew word there is “elohim”- which means God.

Psalm 8:3 “When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained;  4What is man that You take thought of him,  And the son of man that You care for him? 5Yet You have made him a little lower than God, And You crown him with glory and majesty! 6You make him to rule over the works of Your hands;  You have put all things under his feet,  7All sheep and oxen, And also the beasts of the field,  8The birds of the heavens and the fish of the sea, Whatever passes through the paths of the seas. 9 O LORD, our Lord,  How majestic is Your name in all the earth!

The belief that God is in any way disgusted by man is simply evil thinking. Satan is envious of God and man who is made in His image. “God so loved the world.” God longs to be our God in our hearts, saying over and over “I will be their God and they will be my people.”

It is Satan who wants us to believe we are lower than angels! He is a fallen angel! A “has-been!” He is powerless without cooperation from us. Angels are in awe of us. They are our helpers. We have so much worth and are equipped by God with so much power that children have the best shot at using their supernatural faith before they become indoctrinated! Child-like faith means uncontaminated with doubt. Our words have power. Life and death are in our tongues.  Our faith can move mountains and curse fig trees. “Know Ye not that Ye are gods. ” John 10:34

Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? 35If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; 36Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?

Whoa! Read that again! Slowly… “If He called them gods unto whom the Word of God came…” (that’s men!) “..then why do you say of me whom the Father sent to you that I’m blaspheming by calling myself the son of God?”  Jesus is saying we men are already gods and sons of God (little gods), made in His image. Jesus, coming down as God into human flesh can only also be, like us, also a Son of God, because that’s what we are. Think about that for a few years. And re-read the whole New Testament. Jesus came to teach us who we are, how to take authority over the devil and the elements of this world. We’ve been duped; and now, with guidance of the Holy Spirit, we can live our lives like the gods we are, in fellowship with the Father. “Awake o sleeper!” (Eph 5:14) Wake up and become who God created you to be! You were created for dominion on earth; miracles, commanding the weather, authority over your body.

John G Lake Ministries teaches this through Curry Blake. David Hogan, Andrew Wommack and others teach how to be sons of God.
